Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the United VPN app (the “App”) and the services provided through it (together, the “Service”). The App is made by Cheese Quake LLC (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

In short

  • Use the App for lawful purposes only.
  • The free version shows ads. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, and you can cancel it at any time in your Apple ID settings.
  • We work hard to keep the Service fast and available, but we can’t guarantee it will always be uninterrupted.
  • Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.

1. The Service

The App offers:

  • VPN: an encrypted connection to our servers in several countries, with automatic selection of an optimal location. Our VPN servers keep no logs of your activity, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • DNS modes: DNS Settings with ready-made and custom DNS profiles, Game Boost and Child Control.
  • Ad and tracker blocking: content blockers for Safari, blocking in the built-in browser, and Block in All Apps on the DNS level.
  • Private Browser: a built-in browser with tabs and private search.
  • Speed Test: measuring your connection, with a history of results.
  • Solitaire: a built-in card game.

We continually improve the App, so features, server locations and supported iOS versions may change over time. Some features need an internet connection, and your mobile carrier’s data charges apply.

The VPN, DNS modes and Block in All Apps use a VPN configuration on your device, which iOS asks you to allow. The VPN and the DNS modes take turns, because iOS runs one VPN connection at a time. Block in All Apps works together with either of them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for making sure that using a VPN service is lawful where you are.

3. Free version and Premium

The App is free to download. The free version includes free VPN locations, the Google DNS profile, your own DNS profiles, Game Boost, Child Control, Safari ad blocking, the Private Browser, the Speed Test and Solitaire. The free version shows ads, for example before a VPN connection.

A Premium subscription adds:

  • all VPN locations, including Premium servers;
  • all ready-made DNS profiles;
  • Block in All Apps;
  • no ads.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • Premium is offered as weekly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions. Prices are shown in the App before you buy and may vary by country.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • If a free trial is offered, it is shown on the purchase screen. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions (how to cancel). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • If you reinstall the App or use another device with the same Apple ID, tap “Restore” on the purchase screen.
  • If we change the price of a subscription, Apple will notify you as required, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

5. Acceptable use

Our servers are shared by many people. To keep the Service fast and safe for everyone, you agree not to use it to:

  • break any law or encourage anyone else to do so;
  • send spam, run phishing or fraud, or distribute malware;
  • attack, scan, probe or gain unauthorized access to any system or network, including ours;
  • infringe copyrights, trademarks or other rights of others;
  • harass, threaten or harm others, or share content that exploits children;
  • overload our servers, interfere with other users’ connections, or resell or share access to the Service;
  • get around Premium restrictions, or copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the App, except as allowed by law.

We may block traffic, limit access or end your use of the Service if we reasonably believe you have broken these rules.

6. Content blocking and DNS

Ad and tracker blocking uses community-maintained filter lists, such as EasyList, EasyPrivacy and Fanboy’s lists. Their authors provide them under their own licenses. Filter lists can’t catch every ad or tracker, and sometimes a website or app may not work as expected while blocking is on. In that case you can allow a domain, pause blocking in Block in All Apps, or turn off a filter.

Safari content blockers work after you turn them on in iOS Settings › Safari › Extensions.

When you use a DNS mode or Block in All Apps, domain lookups are resolved by the DNS provider you chose (Cloudflare by default for Block in All Apps). That provider’s own terms and policies apply. The filtering offered by family and security DNS profiles, including Child Control, is provided by those DNS services. It helps parents but doesn’t replace parental supervision.

7. Third-party services

The App works with services run by others: Apple (App Store and payments), Google (Firebase and AdMob), DNS providers, Speedtest by Ookla, ip-api.com, DuckDuckGo, GitHub Pages and the websites you visit. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Links to their privacy policies are listed in our Privacy Policy.

8. License and intellectual property

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by these Terms and the App Store’s Usage Rules. The App, its design, code, names and logos belong to Cheese Quake LLC or its licensors, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Disclaimer

The App and the Service are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We work to keep the Service available and fast, but connection speed and availability depend on many factors, including your network, the location of the server and other users. We don’t guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every server location will always be available, or that every ad or tracker will be blocked. A VPN encrypts your connection and hides your IP address from the websites you visit. It does not by itself protect you from malware, phishing or unsafe websites, and it does not make you completely anonymous.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cheese Quake LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the App or the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the App or the Service is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Some countries don’t allow these limitations. In that case they apply only to the extent the law allows, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cheese Quake LLC from claims, damages and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. If you have a subscription, cancel it in your Apple ID settings. We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you break these Terms, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering it, the rights granted to you under these Terms end, and you should delete the App. Sections 8–11, 13 and 14 continue to apply after termination.

13. App Store terms

If you downloaded the App from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies:

  • These Terms are between you and Cheese Quake LLC, not Apple. Cheese Quake LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies. If it conflicts with these Terms on the license to use the App, the Standard EULA prevails.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
  • If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or similar claims.
  • Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement or discharge of any third-party claim that the App or your use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Cheese Quake LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep the protection of those laws, and you may bring claims in the courts of your country.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the App or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. By continuing to use the App after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
